People and their dogs run, wheel, and splash in support of canine cancer

Woof fit 2015 133Blue Skies were Smiling on the Third Annual Woof Fit Mini Triathlon

Saturday, June 20, 2015 was a perfect day for getting around the Beach.

About 40 participants took part in the Third Annual Woof Fit Mini Triathlon in support of the Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund.

There were three “races”, all with people and their dogs. First up was a run along the boardwalk, followed by a wheel race, then a big finish in the lake.

The wheels consisted of skateboards, scooters, bikes and roller blades.

Once in the lake the options were paddle boards, canoes (one capsized close to shore), dinghies, kayaks, and good old dog paddling.

Over $16,000 was raised on the on line donation site which is still open for donations if you’d like to contribute.

After adding in the proceeds from the on site registration, auction, and raffle the total is over $19,000.

If you missed this event but would like to take part in the upcoming Fourth Annual Smiling Blue Skies Walk to End Canine Cancer, mark Saturday, September 26, 2015 in your calendar.
