Archery, something you wouldn’t expect to find on the Danforth
Looking for something different and fun to set you all a quiver?
Booboo and I were strolling along the Danny a couple of weeks ago when we came across a sign for Shawn’s Archery outside a church. I checked out the Facebook page and immediately signed up for the May 16th class set to take place in the basement of the Danforth Church. My good friend Michel was eager to join me.
For $40 we got two hours of Olympic style instruction (6:30pm-8:30pm), about 5 rounds of various target shots, and a unique and fun time.
Shawn Adams has been an archery enthusiast for about 20 years and he made it very easy to pick up a few techniques while learning about the sport. He was also very keen on promoting the archery competitions in the upcoming Pan Am games.
The next session is May 23, although once you have taken the initial class you can continue with more classes and hone the craft.
Michel and I worked on our form and aim then headed to the Old Nick for wings and pints.
A nice start to the May 24 weekend.
